Day 17 — Incubation continues, male visits

Day 8 of incubation saw the female House Finch continuing her diligent care of the five-egg clutch. Her presence on the nest was noted from the first activity at 00:03 until the camera coverage ended at 14:59.

The male made a single visit to the incubating female at 11:08. One confirmed feeding visit occurred at 09:56. The female’s longest absence from the cup today lasted 20 minutes, from 08:31 to 08:51. The busiest hour for activity was 05:00, with 40 frames captured. Synchronous hatch is still expected to begin in five days, between June 19 and 21.
