Day 17

Day 17 — Up to 4 chicks; unhatched eggs still in cup at ~16:00; male feeds throughout

No qualifying frame for this date.

The Tapo camera’s overnight interval frames are almost entirely unreadable — fully dark from 00:00 through at least 05:19. A bird is confirmed on the nest in IR at 01:27; a brief empty-nest clip at 05:35 suggests a short absence before the female returns by 05:50. At 05:53, chicks are visible in the cup with no adult present. The male makes the first feeding visit of the day around 06:07–06:08, with chicks gaping by 06:29. At 07:02, at least 4 chicks are counted — the day’s highest single-clip count. The female covers the cup for most of the morning, with chick gapes visible through brief gaps as she shifts position. Both adults are at the nest simultaneously at 07:51–07:52 and again around 09:50–09:52, the male leaning into the cup while the female is also present. There is a gap in the Tapo record from the last clip at 10:30 through 11:52, when a human head is briefly visible beside the nest in two sunroom clips. The female is back on the cup by 12:22. Male feeding visits continue through the afternoon and evening, documented around 12:38, 13:22, 14:12, 15:16, 16:07, 17:17, 18:18, and 19:43. Both adults are at the nest…
